About this role
AdventHealth Lenexa City Center is hiring a full-time RN for its Preop/PACU unit at its ambulatory surgery center in Lenexa, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive preoperative and post-anesthesia assessments covering physiological, psychological, and sociocultural factors.
- Develop, implement, and continuously revise individualized care plans based on patient status and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, medications, and post-discharge self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and ancillary departments to coordinate seamless perioperative care.
- Respond promptly to code situations and provide stabilizing interventions as needed.
### What we're looking for
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required).
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience (preferred).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and critical-thinking skills for a fast-paced perioperative environment.
- Proficiency navigating Windows-based computer systems and electronic medical records.
