About this role
A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/MA) is needed to support a busy Neurosurgery clinic at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth, primarily based in Hinsdale, IL with occasional coverage at Bolingbrook, Carol Stream, and Woodridge locations.
### What you'll do
- Perform clinical intake including vital signs, history taking, screenings, and medication reconciliation
- Assist with minor procedures specific to neurosurgery and document findings accurately at the time of service
- Administer medications, initiate ordered tests, and document results in the designated EHR
- Educate patients on tests, medications, and dietary instructions during and after visits
- Monitor inventory, maintain medical equipment, and ensure adequate clinic supplies
- Maintain OSHA compliance and uphold patient confidentiality standards
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active BLS/CPR certification required
- One of the following credentials required: CMA (AAMA), CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA (non-certified candidates must obtain certification after hire)
- 1+ year of related medical assistant experience preferred
- Proficiency with computers and electronic health record systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment with sound judgment and professional demeanor
