About this role
A Certified Medical Assistant is needed to support a busy Neurosurgery Clinic at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Hinsdale, Illinois, with occasional travel to satellite clinics in Bolingbrook, Carol Stream, and Woodridge.
### What you'll do
- Room patients, take medical histories, record vital signs, and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
- Manage front-office responsibilities including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient check-in and check-out.
- Complete chart preparation prior to visits, ensuring lab results, imaging, and referral documentation are in place.
- Educate patients on tests, medications, and dietary guidance; administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Respond to clinical phone calls, triage appropriately, and facilitate referrals as needed.
- Complete CLIA compliance logs, prior authorizations, and worker's compensation paperwork in accordance with regulatory requirements.
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Active certification as a CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA required.
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- At least 1 year of medical assistant work experience preferred.
- Ability to travel between clinic locations in the western Chicago suburbs.
