About this role

A Patient Care Technician – Emergency joins UChicago Medicine AdventHealth's Emergency Department at AdventHealth Bolingbrook in Bolingbrook, Illinois. ### What you'll do - Perform treatments and patient care procedures appropriate to patient age, mobility, acuity, and cultural background under the direction of a registered nurse. - Function in clinical emergencies and support the ED care team during high-acuity situations. - Assist with obtaining nursing histories, document all procedures per department policy, and report abnormalities to the RN. - Follow isolation guidelines, demonstrate correct use of PPE, and enforce safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe environment. - Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members throughout each shift. - Participate in performance improvement activities and support quality standards and initiatives. ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Minimum 1 year of PCT experience; prior bedside care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, or monitor technician role accepted. - Current BLS/CPR certification required. - One of the following active credentials required: CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT. - Ability to work 36 hours per week on day shifts (7:00 am – 7:30 pm) with rotating weekends and holidays. ### What's included - Pay range: $17.17 – $27.46/hr ($35,714 – $57,117 annualized). - Sign-on bonus up to $3,000. - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance effective Day One. - Paid time off from Day One plus 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave. - 403(b) retirement plan. - CME/career development resources and whole-person well-being support. ### About the practice AdventHealth Bolingbrook is part of UChicago Medicine AdventHealth, a faith-based, community-centered health system serving the western suburbs of Chicago.
