About this role
A Certified Medical Assistant supports orthopedic clinic operations at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Bolingbrook, Illinois, with occasional travel to clinics in Chicago and Woodridge.
### What you'll do
- Perform clinical intake including vital signs, screenings, history taking, and medication reconciliation
- Assist with minor orthopedic procedures and ensure accurate documentation at the time of service
- Administer medications, initiate testing, and document results in the designated practice system
- Educate patients on tests, medications, and diet with clear, accurate instructions
- Monitor and manage inventory of supplies and medical equipment
- Maintain OSHA compliance and organizational safety policies
### What we're looking for
- Active CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA certification (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1+ year of related medical assistant experience (preferred)
- Proficiency with medical terminology and chronic disease management concepts
- Ability to work independently within certification scope in a fast-paced environment
