A Registration Specialist (PRN) position is open at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth's Plainfield Imaging Center, located in Plainfield, Illinois.
### What you'll do
- Register patients for all services, ensuring accuracy and minimizing duplicate medical records.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management staff on coverage issues.
- Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage (ABNs) as required.
- Generate accurate patient financial responsibility estimates, collect payments, and establish payment plans.
- Perform cashiering functions including cash collection and reconciliation.
- Serve as a communication link between clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments to support a smooth patient experience.
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, EMR systems, and general office equipment.
- Familiarity with CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA regulations; ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion.
- Basic to intermediate medical terminology and ability to interpret insurance benefit information.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CHAA or CRCR certification a plus.
### What's included
- Pay range: $17.99–$28.78/hour (approximately $37,400–$59,900 annualized).
- PRN scheduling Monday–Friday with shift start times as early as 7:00 AM and end times as late as 7:00 PM; some weekend coverage may be required.
