About this role
AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach is hiring a PRN Phlebotomist III (days, Monday–Friday) at its laboratory in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform venipuncture and microtainer (capillary) collections accurately and efficiently across routine, stat, and alert priority levels
- Ensure all specimens are correctly labeled and orders are received and processed properly, following a first-in/first-out workflow for routine draws
- Transport hazardous waste from point of generation to designated secure storage areas per training requirements
- Adhere to infection control policies, Chemical Hygiene plan, PPE standards, and hand-hygiene protocols
- Troubleshoot phlebotomy service concerns and coordinate daily workload assignments in support of leadership
- Mentor new employees, assist with department orientation, and ensure competency documentation is completed
### What we're looking for
- Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience (venipuncture and capillary); prior AdventHealth lab experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to multitask and work independently or within a team
- Availability for flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
- BLS/CPR certification preferred; PBT(ASCP) certification preferred
### What's included
- Pay range: $16.14–$25.83/hour ($33,571–$53,726 annualized)
- PRN position with potential for full-time hours based on current departmental need
- Day shift schedule within an M–F, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM operating window
