About this role
A Certified Medical Assistant joins AdventHealth's Diabetes and Endocrinology Institute in Tampa, Florida, supporting a specialty outpatient clinic focused on chronic disease management.
### What you'll do
- Prepare patients and equipment for treatment and initiate diagnostic testing, documenting results in the designated EHR system.
- Ensure efficient patient flow throughout the clinic on a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule.
- Maintain OSHA compliance and adhere to all safety processes and organizational policies.
- Stay current on all clinical policies, completing annual competency assessments and written tests.
- Travel as needed to support staffing needs across clinic locations.
- Advocate for patients and navigate complex healthcare systems on their behalf.
### What we're looking for
- Active certification as a CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA (one required).
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and chronic disease management.
- 1+ year of related clinical work experience (preferred).
- Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems.
