About this role
AdventHealth is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for its Centra Care urgent care clinic in Orlando, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform clinical check-in assessments, document vital signs, and screen patients for signs of abuse or neglect using age-specific guidelines.
- Administer treatments and medications as ordered by the provider and respond to clinical emergencies and triage situations.
- Conduct diagnostic and occupational medicine testing including EKG, spirometry, audiometry, titmus, and pulse oximetry.
- Complete forensic testing collections per DOT and state guidelines.
- Execute patient check-out duties and relay discharge instructions and care information to patients and families.
- Train newly hired clinical staff and participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
### What we're looking for
- Active certification as CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or Licensed Paramedic (required).
- BLS/CPR certification (required).
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience or graduate of an accredited MA program with completed externship.
- Ability to multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care environment.
- Previous urgent care or emergency department experience (preferred).

AdventHealth Centra Care is an urgent care network operated by AdventHealth, a faith-based not-for-profit health system headquartered in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Orlando location at 12500 S Apopka Vineland Rd serves a high-volume walk-in patient population with a full suite of on-site diagnostic capabilities. The role follows a fixed schedule including Wednesday afternoons, Thursday–Friday extended days, and Saturday mornings.
