About this role

A Patient Care Technician joins the Medical-Surgical unit at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Bolingbrook, Illinois, working nights on a 36-hour-per-week schedule. ### What you'll do - Perform patient care treatments per policy, appropriate to patient age, mobility, acuity, and cultural needs - Assist in delivery of bedside care under the direction of a registered nurse, documenting all procedures per department policy - Participate in obtaining nursing histories and report abnormalities or changes to the RN - Follow isolation protocols, use personal protective equipment correctly, and enforce unit safety regulations - Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team - Support quality improvement initiatives and adapt practice in response to performance improvement activities ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - 1+ year of applicable PCT or acute care patient experience - Active BLS/CPR certification (required) - One of the following credentials: CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT certification (required) - Demonstrated ability to function appropriately during clinical emergencies - Commitment to continuous skill development and learning ### What's included - Hourly pay range: $17.17–$27.46 (approximately $35,700–$57,100 annualized at 2,080 hours) - Sign-on bonus up to $3,000 - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance effective Day One - Paid time off from Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of fully paid parental leave ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook is a full-service community hospital located at 500 Remington Blvd in Bolingbrook, IL, operating as part of the Adventist Health System. The Medical-Surgical unit runs 24/7 acute inpatient care with rotating weekends and holidays on a 6:30 pm–7:00 am night shift.
