About this role

A Pharmacy Intern at AdventHealth East Orlando supports inpatient medication dispensing and compounding operations under pharmacist supervision at this Orlando, Florida hospital. ### What you'll do - Accurately respond to medication dispensing requests, prepare medications for pharmacist review, and deliver checked medications to nursing units - Assist pharmacists with sterile compounding, controlled substance handling, medication order review, and patient education - Perform filling, recording, and distribution of pharmacy kits, carts, trays, and interdepartmental product transfers - Facilitate medication safety practices and continuous quality improvement by identifying, mitigating, and reporting potential and actual medication errors - Handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials using appropriate PPE and Hazardous Medication Spill Kits - Support medication-use process improvements, stewardship initiatives, and waste prevention programs ### What we're looking for - Active Pharmacy Intern (PSI) license required - High school diploma or equivalent required - Knowledge of medical terminology and competence in aseptic techniques - Strong verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the broader healthcare team - Preferred: expertise in USP 795, 797, and 800 guidelines; hospital pharmacy operations including IV compounding and pharmacy automation ### What's included - Pay range: $16.63–$26.60/hour (~$34,590–$55,328 annualized) - PRN/per-diem schedule with day-weekend shifts - Access to AdventHealth's professional development and practice advancement initiatives ### About the practice AdventHealth East Orlando is a full-service acute care hospital located at 7727 Lake Underhill Road in Orlando, Florida, part of the AdventHealth system.
