About this role
A Consumer Access Specialist role on the night shift at AdventHealth Celebration in Celebration, Florida, supporting patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance functions across a hospital campus.
### What you'll do
- Register patients for all services, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information to minimize duplicate medical records
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management staff on pre-auth issues
- Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage (ABNs) as required
- Generate patient financial responsibility estimates, collect payments, and establish payment arrangements
- Document all patient and payer conversations including coverage decisions and payment plans; provide PBX/switchboard coverage as needed
- Perform cashiering functions including collections and cash reconciliation
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
- 1+ year of customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle experience preferred
- Basic to intermediate medical terminology and working knowledge of insurance benefits
- Familiarity with hospital EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Adherence to CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA regulations
- Bilingual English/Spanish and CHAA or CRCR certification are preferred
