About this role
AdventHealth Lake Nona is hiring a full-time Advanced Endoscopy Technician to support complex GI and pulmonary procedures at its surgery facility in Orlando, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Assist physicians with advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP, cholangioscopy, endomucosal resection, POEM, endosuturing, cystgastroscopy, and Endoflip
- Support complex pulmonary procedures including navigation bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)
- Perform high-level decontamination, scope reprocessing, and operation of automated endoscope reprocessors; maintain all related disinfection and sterilization records
- Prepare patients for procedures under registered nurse direction and communicate pertinent patient information throughout the care episode
- Assist with medication delivery via endoscope under physician supervision
- Promote a safe environment, respond to emergencies, control hazards, and report environmental concerns to management
### What we're looking for
- 1+ year assisting GI or pulmonary physicians with complex advanced procedures (ERCP, Spyglass, EUS-guided interventions, navigation bronchoscopy, EBUS)
- 1+ year of experience as an endoscopy technician or comparable clinical role
- Advanced Associate GI Technician certification through SGNA (required)
- BLS/CPR certification (required)
- Demonstrated proficiency in high-level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy instrumentation
- High school diploma or equivalent
