Certified Patient Care Technician Behavioral Geriatric Unit

A Certified Patient Care Technician is needed for the Behavioral Geriatric Unit at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook in Bolingbrook, Illinois. ### What you'll do - Perform patient care treatments per policy, appropriate to each patient's age, mobility, acuity, and cultural background - Assist the registered nurse in delivering direct bedside care and identifying patient needs - Document and report all procedures and abnormal findings to the supervising RN in accordance with department policy - Follow isolation protocols, apply personal protective equipment correctly, and enforce safety regulations - Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team - Participate in performance improvement activities and support quality standards and initiatives ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - Active BLS/CPR certification (required) - One of the following certifications: CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT (required) - 1+ year of PCT or equivalent acute-care experience (preferred) - Experience working with dementia or geriatric behavioral health patients (preferred) - Previous bedside care, unit secretary, or monitor technician experience (preferred) ### What's included - Pay range: $17.17–$27.46/hour ($35,714–$57,117 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from Day One - Paid time off from Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Whole-person well-being and mental health support resources ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook is a full-service community hospital located in Bolingbrook, Illinois, affiliated with both AdventHealth and the University of Chicago Medicine health systems.
