Medical Lab Scientist PRN

AdventHealth is hiring a PRN Medical Lab Scientist to support laboratory operations across two Florida locations — AdventHealth Waterman in Tavares and AdventHealth ER Fruitland Park in Fruitland Park. ### What you'll do - Perform pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, specimen collection, and biological specimen processing - Conduct post-analytical activities such as reporting results and providing technical support following laboratory testing - Evaluate new laboratory techniques and procedures, assisting with data collection and special projects - Participate in proficiency testing in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations - Guide and support technicians and support staff, resolving customer service issues within established guidelines - Serve as a preceptor for new employees and students during orientation and training as needed ### What we're looking for - Associate's degree in laboratory science, chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution (Bachelor's preferred) - Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (required) - 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience (preferred) - Ability to work independently, adapt to varying priorities, and direct workflow with minimal supervision - Proficiency with computer systems for maintaining patient documentation and testing records - Strong verbal and written communication skills across diverse patient and staff populations ### What's included - Hourly pay range: $23.71 – $48.50 (approximately $49,316 – $100,880 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating hospitals and care sites across multiple states. Shifts are available days or nights on a 12-hour schedule.
