About this role

A Nurse Tech (PRN/day shift) role at AdventHealth Port Charlotte supports registered nurses in delivering direct patient care at the hospital's Port Charlotte, Florida campus. ### What you'll do - Assist in patient care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse, including vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and input/output documentation. - Follow CDC isolation guidelines and infection control policies, demonstrating appropriate PPE use and hand hygiene. - Participate in obtaining nursing histories and evaluate age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms, reporting abnormalities to the RN. - Perform treatments appropriate to patient age, mobility, acuity, and culture, and respond appropriately in clinical emergencies. - Float between unit assignments and adapt to varying healthcare settings as needed. - Support quality standards and participate in practice changes driven by performance improvement activities. ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program with at least one semester of Nursing Fundamentals completed, OR a nursing program graduate within the past year who has not yet obtained RN or LPN licensure. - Active BLS/CPR certification required. - Demonstrated understanding of age-specific care needs across geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric populations. - Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety/infection control compliance. - Prior experience as a nursing assistant preferred (1+ years). ### What's included - Pay range: $15.87–$25.38/hour ($33,007–$52,790 annualized). - PRN/per-diem scheduling with day shift availability. ### About the practice AdventHealth Port Charlotte is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based, not-for-profit health network operating across multiple states.
