A faith-based, rapidly growing health system in Dallas, TX is seeking a full-time Medical Director for its Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) Accountable Care Organization. This executive clinical leadership role drives value-based care transformation across a network of 12 hospitals and dozens of regional clinics. Practice Highlights
- Provide strategic clinical leadership for the MSSP ACO program, ensuring CMS compliance and advancing shared-savings goals
- Lead quality strategy to improve CMS metrics including preventive health, chronic condition management, patient experience, and utilization measures
- Serve as liaison between clinical staff, administration, and the value-based care leadership team
- Oversee performance dashboards with analytics teams; translate data insights into actionable clinical improvement plans
- Lead root cause analyses, care variation reduction projects, and performance improvement initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with employed and independent physicians to promote ACO engagement and accountability
- Educate providers on MSSP requirements, documentation best practices, and VBC performance measures
- Facilitate provider meetings, clinical education sessions, and performance feedback forums
- Partner with care management and post-acute leadership to optimize patient transitions and reduce readmissions
- Develop patient-centered strategies for high-risk, high-cost populations including chronic disease management, telehealth, and home-based care
- Collaborate with community organizations to address social determinants of health for Medicare beneficiaries
- Serve as a key member of the ACO Board; participate in quarterly CMS performance reviews
- Represent the ACO at local, regional, and national MSSP forums and conferences
- Key performance indicators include MSSP shared savings targets, quality score benchmarks, reduction in avoidable admissions, improved CAHPS scores, and risk adjustment accuracy
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree required; advanced degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred
- Current, unrestricted Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a relevant specialty required
- 8–10 years of clinical practice experience with progressive leadership responsibilities
- Prior experience in value-based care, ACOs, population health, or clinical integration strongly preferred
- Proven track record in quality improvement, physician engagement, and cost containment programs
- Experience with CMS MSSP quality reporting, risk adjustment, and performance improvement preferred
- Strong understanding of healthcare economics, CMS payment models, and ACO operations
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate analytics into clinical action
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and physician engagement skills
