A full-time nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) opportunity is available in Mansfield, Texas, joining the trauma surgery team at a highly regarded acute-care hospital currently holding American College of Surgeons Level 3 trauma center status and on track for Level 2 verification. This role offers PAs and NPs the chance to deliver high-acuity overnight trauma and critical care alongside a collaborative team of six double-boarded Trauma Surgeons with over 130 combined years of experience.

Practice Highlights
- Nocturnist schedule; nights with varying days of the week
- Triage and lead Level 2 trauma activations; assist with Level 1 activations and manage acute resuscitations
- Perform a broad range of procedures including EFAST exams, central and arterial line insertion, intubation, bronchoscopic procedures, chest tube placement, and laceration closure
- Assist in trauma and acute care surgery operative procedures
- Round on a diverse patient population across the ICU, critical care, intermediate care, and trauma floors
- Manage patients in the Emergency Department, ICU, intermediate care, and general floor settings overnight
- Perform comprehensive and interval history and physical examinations; order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic studies
- Document findings and treatment plans in the EMR; prescribe or recommend therapeutic procedures and medications
- Collaborate closely with the Trauma Medical Director and the broader trauma team
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses and treatment plans; refer to specialized resources as needed

Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner master's degree program; NPs must hold AGACNP or ACNP certification
- Active license or eligibility to practice in the State of Texas
- BLS and ACLS certification required (or ability to obtain)
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) familiarity or certification preferred
- FCCS (Fundamental Critical Care Support) certification beneficial but optional
- Clinical and procedural APP experience in trauma, surgical, emergency department, or critical care settings preferred
- Strong surgical and critical care knowledge base
- Proficiency in EMR documentation and clinical decision-making
- Excellent communication skills and ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations
