Practice Highlights
- Full-time evening shift position — consistent, predictable schedule
- Performs diagnostic CT procedures across all age groups, newborn through elderly, in a high-volume acute care hospital setting
- Operates CT scanner using advanced computed tomography techniques; produces and evaluates images for technical quality with full documentation of identification and procedure
- Assists practitioners with fluoroscopy and advanced CT scope of practice
- Administers contrast media via venipuncture in accordance with Texas state statutes and institutional policy; evaluates lab values and communicates potential outcomes to the radiologist
- Utilizes RIS and PACS for image processing, storage, filing, and retrieval; applies 3D imaging and digital processing concepts
- Responsible for equipment quality control, malfunction reporting, and participation in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities
- Provides precepting and practical instruction for students and other healthcare professionals
- Part of a system that includes a specialized children's hospital, comprehensive cancer care network, rehabilitation centers, and a physician network — broad referral base and case variety
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Imaging Technology required
- ARRT registration in Radiology with CT certification required; new graduates must obtain ARRT CT Registry within one year of graduation from an accredited program
- Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license, or documentation of approved training in lieu of CT registry at time of hire
- 0–1 year of experience with demonstrated competency in computed tomography components; new graduates with CT training are eligible
- Active Healthcare Provider BLS certification required at hire (American Red Cross or AHA); must transition to AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
