Practice Highlights
- Outpatient cardiac imaging practice within Arizona Heart Institute, a recognized cardiovascular specialty center in Phoenix
- Performs noninvasive echocardiography using high-frequency ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic cardiac images
- Responsible for transducer selection, equipment setup, and patient preparation in accordance with established protocols
- Reviews pertinent patient history, physical exam findings, and clinical data to facilitate physician interpretation and diagnosis
- Delivers oral and written technical summaries of findings directly to interpreting cardiologists
- Operates within a multispecialty network of over 120 employed physicians and practitioners across approximately 20 outpatient locations
- Supported by five acute care hospitals and four neighborhood emergency centers within the affiliated Abrazo Health system
- Collaborative team environment with defined workflows for billing, documentation, and supply management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED plus successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program required
- ARDMS certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI certification as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required; registry-eligible candidates considered with the expectation that registration is obtained within 12 months of hire
- BLS certification required at time of hire
- Minimum of one year of clinical echocardiography experience required; two or more years preferred
- Proficiency in transducer selection, ultrasound image acquisition and evaluation, and compliance with HIPAA and site-specific protocols
