Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care Program required
  • Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) state license required
  • Current CRT or RRT certification from the NBRC required (renewal every 5 years unless grandfathered prior to July 1, 2002)
  • Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
  • AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
  • AHA PALS required within 60 days of hire or transfer if covering pediatric patients
  • AHA NRP required within 60 days of hire or transfer if covering NICU patients
  • Prior experience in respiratory care or a related clinical area preferred; new graduates are eligible to apply
