About the Community
Ocala sits in north-central Florida, roughly 90 minutes from both coasts and just south of Gainesville — close enough to Orlando, Tampa, and Gainesville for weekend access to major cultural and entertainment amenities, yet offering a distinctly lower cost of living with affordable housing and no Florida state income tax. Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Ocala is surrounded by world-class equestrian facilities, the Ocala National Forest, and Silver Springs State Park, providing year-round outdoor recreation from trail riding and kayaking to freshwater springs. Strong public schools, a tight-knit community feel, and a comfortable pace of life make it a particularly attractive destination for physicians relocating with families.
