- Direct physician support role: assist with daily office operations, patient exams, procedures, and patient education under physician supervision
- Triage responsibilities include monitoring and recording vitals for all visiting patients
- Clinical procedures include EKG and phlebotomy as applicable
- Responsible for accurate medical documentation of all office visits
- Cross-functional coverage: ability to assist office and scheduling coordinators in their absence as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program required; three years of relevant healthcare work experience accepted in lieu of formal program completion
- Active Medical Assistant certification required through one of the following bodies: NHA, AAMA, AMT (Registered Medical Assistant), NCCT, ARMA, or HPRUS — candidates have up to 90 days post-hire to obtain certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum one year of relevant clinical work experience preferred
- Comfort with EKG performance and phlebotomy in an outpatient specialty setting
