Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas is recruiting a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to join its cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) team. Practice Highlights

  • CVOR-focused surgical first assisting role — direct intraoperative support to the operating surgeon throughout cardiovascular procedures
  • Provides both direct and indirect technical care to surgical and obstetrical patients across invasive procedures

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical First Assistant program; candidates within 120 days of graduation who are eligible to sit for certification are considered
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through the NBSTSA, ABSA, or NSAA required; certification must be maintained via continuing education or recertification testing
  • Must hold active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
  • Minimum 1 year of recent operating room experience with direct patient contact and demonstrated sterile technique; 2 or more years preferred
  • Active Healthcare Provider BLS certification required at hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire if not already held
