This role offers hands-on first-assist responsibilities across a high-acuity surgical program that includes the da Vinci Xi robotic platform, a Level I Trauma Center, and orthopedic, cardiovascular, and obstetric service lines. - Pre-operative responsibilities include permit review, procedure confirmation with the attending surgeon, equipment selection, patient positioning, Foley catheter insertion/removal, and sterile draping per surgeon preference
- Collaborative OR environment with surgeon-specific preference protocols and a team committed to patient safety and outcomes
Qualifications
- Active CFSA (Certified Surgical First Assist) or CSA (Certified Surgical Assistant) credential required
- Completion of a formal Non-Physician Surgical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP required
- Minimum one year of surgical first-assist experience required
- Preferred: one year of experience specifically as a certified surgical technician — first assist
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills essential to the role
- Ability to function independently and in collaboration with surgeons across multiple service lines
