- High-complexity testing performed in accordance with CLIA regulations (42 CFR 493.1489 and 42 CFR 493.1491)

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology or a related science, OR graduation from an accredited school of medical technology; military training equivalent as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489 also accepted; or qualification at the Medical Technologist level via satisfactory HHS examination grade prior to 2/28/92 per 42 CFR 493.1491
- Minimum two years of experience as a medical technologist in an acute care facility; OR one year of acute care medical technologist experience combined with a Master's degree
- Certification required with an approved agency — ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS — must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- Non-U.S.-trained personnel must complete an equivalency evaluation through ECE, NACES, or AICE within 30 days of hire
- Arizona state laboratory licensure as required by state law
- Demonstrated competency in high-complexity testing, instrumentation troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance (CAP, TJC, AABB)
