<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Direct clinical support to orthopedic physicians in an outpatient sports medicine and orthopedic setting</li> <li>Full-spectrum casting and splinting responsibilities: application, adjustment, repair, and removal of casts, splints, braces, and slings</li> <li>Hands-on patient care including rooming, history intake, dressing changes, suture and staple removal, and assistance with minor procedures</li> <li>Patient education duties covering cast and brace care, prescribed exercises, and crutch use</li> <li>Treatment room preparation and management, including equipment readiness and supply maintenance</li> <li>Sterile processing responsibilities including regular autoclave cleaning following patient care</li> <li>Accurate clinical documentation throughout the patient encounter</li> <li>Patient population spans pediatric through geriatric, reflecting a broad musculoskeletal case mix including fractures, sports injuries, and post-operative care</li> <li>Part of DMC Medical Group, a regional network spanning primary care, sports medicine, cardiology, neurology, and additional specialties across greater Detroit and southeastern Michigan</li> </ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred</li> <li>AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required</li> <li>Orthopaedic Technologist Certification (OTC) preferred</li> <li>Minimum six months of experience in a healthcare setting preferred; prior casting experience strongly preferred</li> <li>Working knowledge of orthopedic anatomy, terminology, and procedures</li> <li>Proficiency with casting materials, splinting tools, and related orthopedic equipment</li> <li>Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse patient and staff population</li> <li>Ability to complete all position-specific competencies within the introductory period</li> </ul>
