Practice Highlights

  • Full-time night shift position within a hospital laboratory performing high-complexity testing under CLIA regulations (42 CFR 493.1489)
  • Processes and tests all specimen types across the full laboratory menu; reviews and reports results with accuracy and efficiency
  • Performs operational duties including instrument maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
  • Acts as a resource and subject-matter expert to other laboratory personnel on the night shift
  • Additional responsibilities may include billing and inventory management, equipment selection, validation and implementation, document control (SOPs), training and competency assessment, and quality/performance improvement initiatives
  • Laboratory supports a broad multi-specialty hospital including: cardiology (cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology and stroke treatment protocols), obstetrics and gynecology, and bariatric/weight loss surgery
  • Nearly 50-year-established community hospital with a strong team culture and regional referral presence across East Texas

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent; graduate of an accredited school of medical laboratory technology (or equivalent program meeting CLIA high-complexity testing criteria)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical laboratory technician required
  • Current certification through an approved agency: ASCP, NCA, AMT, or equivalent
  • Active Texas laboratory licensure or eligibility to obtain, as required by state law
  • Demonstrated competency in advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and complex specimen processing
