Valley Anesthesiology Consultants — the exclusive anesthesia group for the HonorHealth Network since 1983 — is recruiting a daytime mid-shift Anesthesiologist to serve as the dedicated trauma anesthesia provider at HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center and HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center in north-central Phoenix, Arizona. This is a fixed 7-on/14-off schedule with no overnight call, a guaranteed base salary of $350K, and a $100K total bonus package — a rare combination of high-acuity trauma work and genuine time off. The central Phoenix location means you can live virtually anywhere in the Valley without a burdensome commute.

Practice Highlights

  • Fixed daytime shift: seven consecutive 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) followed by 14 days off — no overnight call, no call-back duties
  • Dedicated trauma anesthesia role: sole anesthesiologist covering the trauma service during each shift, with on-site anesthesiologist partners always present during daytime hours
  • Trauma duties include ED sedation, regional nerve blocks for trauma patients, emergent intubation and central/arterial line placement in the ED, and anesthesia for cases transitioning directly from the trauma bay to the OR
  • Average volume: approximately 3 ED trauma activations per shift and 1–2 trauma-to-OR cases per week
  • Split coverage across two Level 1 Trauma Centers within the HonorHealth Network
  • HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center — 204-bed full-service hospital; main ORs, endoscopy suites, hybrid rooms, cath labs, and NORA sites; ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center; accredited Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center; 24/7 ED with dedicated pediatric emergency center; women's services, cardiology, orthopedics, neurology, oncology, and critical care; Secure Track orthopedic recovery program; Breast Health and Research Center with 3D mammography and on-site MRI; interventional radiology including uterine fibroid treatment; general surgery residency training site

Qualifications

  • Board certification or board eligibility through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency; critical care or trauma anesthesia fellowship training a plus given the role's scope
  • Active Arizona medical license or eligibility to obtain (company-paid)
  • Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain (company-paid)
  • Proficiency with the full trauma anesthesia skill set: emergent airway management, ED sedation, regional blocks, and central/arterial line placement in high-acuity patients
  • Comfort managing cases that transition urgently from the trauma bay to the operating room
