The community offers a genuine blend of academic energy, historic character (including an 1872 courthouse and a well-preserved nineteenth-century town square), and outdoor recreation including Chandler Park's downtown green space, a farmers market, art festivals, and the 18-hole Harry Mussato Golf Course. Twice-daily Amtrak service to Chicago and a three-hour drive to St. Louis mean residents enjoy small-city living without sacrificing access to major metropolitan amenities.
