Practice Highlights
- Acute care hospital setting serving Sunnyvale and surrounding Dallas-area communities including Forney, Mesquite, Garland, Balch Springs, and Rockwall
- Rotating PRN schedule covering pharmacy operations across inpatient care areas
- IV mixture preparation according to established sterile compounding procedures
- Unit-dose medication order filling and patient medication drawer management
- Automated dispensing machine (ADM) restocking and unit supply maintenance
- Prepackaging of bulk medications to unit-dose and IV bulk products to syringes
- Medication delivery runs to patient care areas and retrieval of returns
- Charge entry, credits, and billing of medications to patient accounts
- Inventory management including unpacking, stocking, and expiration date monitoring
- Active participation in team meetings with expectation of contributing process-improvement suggestions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
- Minimum 1 year of hospital pharmacy technician experience required; 2 years preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration required
- IV certification preferred
- Basic computer proficiency required; ability to read and communicate effectively in English required
- Additional language proficiency preferred given the diverse patient population
