Practice Highlights

- Surgical patient population is predominantly adults (18 and older); adolescent and pediatric patients, including infants, seen on an occasional basis
- Perioperative RN responsibilities span the full continuum: pre-procedure assessment, intraoperative monitoring and positioning, specimen handling, and post-procedure discharge coordination
- Continuous intraoperative communication with both the surgeon and anesthesiologist regarding patient condition and status changes
- Responsibility for OR readiness: equipment function checks, case-specific supply procurement, and ensuring all surgical team needs are met before and during procedures
- Surgical scheduling oversight and supervision as part of the perioperative team's daily operations
- Extensive outpatient services footprint in the surrounding community, including physical medicine, wound care, sleep center, and diagnostic imaging
- Two free-standing Emergency Departments extending the facility's reach across the eastern Dallas metro region
- Active quality assurance program within the Surgical Department with nurse participation expected
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Texas (active and in good standing)
- Minimum of one (1) year of operating room nursing experience required
- Special training and/or demonstrated experience in surgical procedures
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current PALS certification required
- Proficiency in English (reading and written/verbal communication); additional language fluency preferred
- Basic computer competency
