Practice Highlights
- Full-time day-shift schedule in the Operating Room of a 510-bed acute care hospital
- Manages daily OR operations independently under the guidance of the Nurse Manager/Director
- Coordinates and directs daily patient care operations of the unit in the absence of the Nurse Manager, including staff competency assessment and patient care assignments
- Assists with recruiting, onboarding, and training of new OR nursing staff
- Assists with scheduling to ensure adequate and safe unit coverage
- Prepares assigned reports for nurse managers and assists with staff meetings
- Delegates tasks to appropriate personnel in accordance with legal, professional, and departmental standards
- Maintains direct communication with Nurse Manager and House Supervisors regarding unit needs and incidents
- Serves as a clinical resource on the unit; provides direct patient care as needed
- Monitors and promotes positive employee relations while enforcing compliance with internal controls and hospital policies, including Target 100
- Comprehensive service lines on campus: Emergency Room, Critical Care, Med/Surg, Telemetry, Women's Services, Surgical Services, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Behavioral Health
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum one year of RN experience required
- Active RN licensure or permit in the state of Tennessee required
- BLS certification required upon hire
- ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire (applicable to OR RNs)
- Prior OR nursing experience and demonstrated leadership or charge experience strongly aligned with this role
