Nacogdoches Medical Center, a nearly 50-year anchor of East Texas healthcare, is recruiting a full-time Laboratory Supervisor for its day-shift clinical laboratory. This supervisory role carries broad operational authority across core laboratory, blood bank, microbiology, or other specialty departments, with direct accountability for accreditation compliance (CAP, TJC, AABB, or equivalent) and staff development. - Hands-on role: performs laboratory testing, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency initiatives alongside supervisory duties
- Subject matter expertise expected in at least one specialty area: core laboratory, blood bank, microbiology, or comparable department
- Service lines supported include obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology (cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology, stroke treatment), and bariatric/weight loss surgery
- Reports directly to the laboratory director; collaborates across a multidisciplinary clinical environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology — or equivalent qualification as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489 / 493.1491 (including qualifying military training or a satisfactory HHS examination grade prior to 2/28/92); must meet CLIA High Complexity testing and General Supervisor requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist in an acute care facility (required)
- Minimum 5 years of laboratory supervisory experience (preferred)
- Current certification through an approved agency: ASCP, NCA, AMT, or equivalent
- Active state licensure as required by Texas law
