About the Community

Hackensack sits in Bergen County, just minutes from Midtown Manhattan via public transportation and major highways — making it one of the most commuter-friendly locations in the region for physicians who want proximity to New York City without the cost of living inside it. New Jersey's property tax relief programs and homestead rebates make homeownership meaningfully more affordable than comparable NYC suburbs. The city offers well-regarded public and private schools, a diverse dining and shopping scene anchored by the Shops at Riverside, and outdoor recreation along the Hackensack River Greenway — a strong combination for physicians relocating with families or seeking an urban-adjacent lifestyle with genuine community character.
