<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>PRN position on the Med-Surg nursing unit at a full-service acute care hospital serving East Texas for nearly 50 years</li> <li>Responsible for recording, transmitting, and filing written and verbal communications to and from nursing staff, physicians, and patients</li> <li>Transcribes physician orders and maintains current, orderly chart files</li> <li>Schedules and signs patients in and out for surgery, treatments, and diagnostic tests</li> <li>Manages unit supply ordering and storage; coordinates special orders for physicians, patients, and nurses</li> <li>Assembles patient charts for transfers and discharges; assists with patient care and quality assurance audits</li> <li>Serves as front-line point of contact — answers telephone and intercom, greets and directs visitors, relays messages</li> <li>Supports physicians in locating patient charts and connecting with the appropriate primary nurse</li> <li>Hospital service lines include obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology (cath lab and electrophysiology), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology, stroke treatment), and weight loss surgery</li> </ul>
