This locum tenens Emergency Medicine opportunity in Pearland, Texas places physicians across two sites — a 49-bed acute care hospital with a Level IV Trauma Center and a freestanding emergency department (FSED) — within the greater Houston metropolitan area. The main campus carries accreditation as a Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI capability and certification as a Primary Stroke Center, supporting a combined medical staff of more than 1,000 physicians. With an ED volume of 28,000–31,000 visits annually at the main site and 24-hour physician coverage at both locations, this engagement offers consistent, high-quality shift work with cross-credentialing across both facilities.

- Specialty backup at main campus includes Cardiology, OB/GYN, General Surgery, and Oncology
- Freestanding ED (FSED): 10-bed fast-track unit seeing approximately 15 patients per day
- FSED physician coverage: 24-hour model with 12-hour shifts (7a–7p / 7p–7a)
- EMR: Meditech at both sites
- Minimum 4 shifts per month required at each site; physicians are cross-credentialed across both
- Supporting medical staff of more than 1,000 physicians and 250 hospital colleagues on campus
Qualifications
- Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or ABOEM)
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency
- Active Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain prior to start
- Comfort managing the full spectrum of community ED acuity, including Level IV trauma stabilization, chest pain, and stroke protocols
- Ability to meet minimum shift commitment of 4 shifts per month per site
