Practice Highlights

  • Full-time, day-shift position on a dedicated Med-Surg unit
  • Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care
  • Accountable for supervision and appropriate delegation of care to supporting staff
  • Medication administration per hospital policy with emphasis on safety and timeliness
  • Practice aligned with established standards in safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
  • Participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
  • Facility service lines include: obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology (cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology and stroke treatment), and bariatric/weight loss surgery
  • Nearly 50-year history serving the East Texas regional community, with a strong emphasis on keeping specialty care local for patients

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a state-approved or accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current Texas RN licensure required (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
  • Recent acute care experience preferred
