Practice Highlights
- Med-Surg unit at a full-service acute care hospital serving East Texas for nearly 50 years
- Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care plans
- Supervisory accountability for staff to whom care is appropriately delegated
- Medication administration per hospital policy with adherence to safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control standards
- Participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
- Multidisciplinary service lines on campus: obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology and stroke treatment), and bariatric/weight loss surgery
- Accountable to CNO for high-quality, safe nursing care and appropriate resource management at the unit level
- Regional referral destination providing specialty treatment options close to home for the broader East Texas patient population
Qualifications
- Graduate of a state-approved or accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current, active Texas RN license (or eligibility to obtain) required
- Recent acute care experience preferred
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or PALS and/or NRP required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
- Demonstrated competency in nursing process: assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation across an acute inpatient population
