Nacogdoches Medical Center, a community hospital with nearly 50 years of service in East Texas, is recruiting a PRN Registered Nurse for its Med-Surg unit on the night shift. Practice Highlights
- PRN night-shift position on a Med-Surg unit within an established acute care hospital
- Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care plans
- Oversight and supervision of delegated care staff on the unit level, with accountability to the CNO for quality, safety, and resource management
- Medication administration per hospital policy with emphasis on safety and timeliness
- Adherence to standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control protocols
- Participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
- Multi-service-line facility: obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology (cath lab and electrophysiology), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology, stroke treatment), and bariatric/weight loss surgery
- Nearly 50 years of community presence serving the East Texas regional patient population
Qualifications
- Graduate of a state-approved or accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current, active Texas RN license (or eligibility to obtain)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
- Recent acute care experience preferred
- Demonstrated competency in nursing process: assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation across a general medical-surgical patient population
