Abrazo West Campus in Goodyear, Arizona is recruiting an experienced Ultrasound Lead Technologist to serve as a working lead within its Radiology department at this 200-bed acute care hospital. This role combines hands-on scanning across General and Vascular Ultrasound with direct oversight of scheduling, staff mentorship, and quality assurance — making it an ideal step for a seasoned sonographer ready to move into formal leadership. Practice Highlights

  • Working lead role — performs the full scope of General and Vascular Ultrasound procedures alongside supervisory responsibilities
  • Covers patients across all age groups; procedures include routine, portable, and invasive ultrasound exams
  • Coordinates daily scheduling and workflow for the Ultrasound Technologist team; collaborates directly with the Radiology Manager and Radiologists
  • Responsible for equipment calibration, quality control, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and evaluation of new procedures and equipment
  • Participates in peer review, new-hire orientation, competency checklists, and annual competency assessments for all department staff
  • On-call (standby) shifts required per department policy, with return-to-work obligations as outlined
  • 200-bed acute care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center, da Vinci Xi robotic surgical platform, Loop-X intraoperative imaging system, orthopedics, obstetrics, and cardiovascular service lines
  • Serves the West Valley communities of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area
  • Billing and charge entry performed via hospital computer systems
  • Maintains inter- and intra-departmental communication with radiologists and clinical staff; applies anatomical and pathological interpretation of measurements and images

Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal ultrasound technology training program meeting ARDMS certification requirements
  • Minimum three years of combined Ultrasound and Vascular experience with demonstrated leadership skills; five years of hospital-based experience preferred
  • ARDMS certification or CCI certification required; RT(R), RDMS (General and OB), and RVT credentials preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Strong verbal communication skills for interaction with patients and clinical staff using radiological and medical terminology; demonstrated problem-solving ability
