About the Community

Inverness is a walkable, bicycle-friendly small city of approximately 7,000 residents built around historic Courthouse Square — a downtown core with local restaurants, pubs, and shops that give it genuine character without the congestion of Florida's larger metros. The city sits along Lake Henderson and Cooter Pond, with celebrated waterfront boardwalks steps from downtown, and serves as the gateway to the Withlacoochee State Trail — at 46 miles, the longest paved recreational trail in Florida. For physicians seeking an authentic Florida lifestyle with low cost of living, outdoor recreation, and a tight-knit community, Inverness delivers a quality of life that larger markets simply cannot match.
