Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology; equivalency accepted via military training (42 CFR 493.1489) or HHS examination qualification prior to 2/28/92 (42 CFR 493.1491)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical technologist in an acute care facility; or 1 year of acute care experience combined with a Master's degree
  • Certification required with an approved agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS) — must be obtained within 12 months of hire
  • Non-U.S.-trained applicants must complete an equivalency evaluation through ECE, NACES, or AICE within 30 days of hire
  • State licensure as required by Tennessee law
  • Demonstrated competency in high-complexity testing and advanced instrument troubleshooting
