About the Community

Gainesville sits at the intersection of a vibrant university town and genuine Florida nature — surrounded by seven state parks, more than 30 miles of biking and hiking trails, and iconic freshwater springs including Ichetucknee Springs State Park. The cost of living is reasonable relative to Florida's coastal markets, real estate values are strong, and the city offers highly rated public, private, and charter schools alongside the University of Florida and several other post-secondary institutions. Access to major airports, proximity to the Atlantic Coast, and a year-round calendar of farmers markets, local breweries, farm-to-fork dining, and outdoor recreation — kayaking, boating, horseback riding, zip-lining, and golf — make Gainesville a compelling destination for physicians who want an active lifestyle without the price tag of a major metro.
