Practice Highlights
- Full-time nights schedule within an acute care hospital setting
- Full-spectrum cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing performed according to established policy and under Medical Director oversight
- Point-of-care blood gas analysis using i-STAT analyzers, with RT responsibility for quality control on all respiratory care equipment
- Emergency response duties — RTs are expected to respond to and manage acute emergency situations across the hospital
- Medication and treatment administration in accordance with hospital policy

Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) state license required
- Current CRT or RRT certification from the NBRC required (renewal every five years unless grandfathered prior to July 1, 2002)
- Active Healthcare Provider BLS (ARC or AHA) required at hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
- AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer if covering Pediatrics
- AHA NRP must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer if covering NICU
- Prior hospital respiratory care experience preferred; new graduates with clinical training in acute care are encouraged to apply
