Qualifications
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a laboratory or medical-related field from an accredited institution preferred
- Minimum experience: One year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
- Phlebotomy certification required where mandated by state law; national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT, or equivalent preferred
- Basic laboratory computer and laboratory information system (LIS) experience preferred
- Demonstrated competency in pre-analytical variables, specimen integrity protocols, and proper handling, packaging, and shipping of specimens
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform accurately in a high-volume, multi-task environment
