Saint Francis Hospital – Bartlett is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist to join its full-service laboratory team at its 196-bed acute care campus in Bartlett, Tennessee. This is a hands-on, high-complexity testing role spanning all major laboratory disciplines, with additional responsibility for instrumentation troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, and staff training — making it an excellent fit for an experienced MLS ready to serve as a departmental resource and subject-matter expert.

Practice Highlights

  • Assists with new equipment validation and implementation projects

  • Regulatory compliance responsibilities encompassing CAP, TJC, AABB, and other applicable accrediting agencies
  • Quality assurance, quality control, and instrument maintenance duties integral to the role
  • Serves as a resource and subject-matter expert to other laboratory personnel
  • Hospital services supported include 24-hour emergency department, critical care, cardiac care, oncology, urology, physical therapy, and a 16-bed orthopedic/spine unit

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology; equivalent military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489 also accepted; or qualification at the Medical Technologist level via satisfactory HHS examination grade prior to 2/28/92 per 42 CFR 493.1491
  • Registered or registry-eligible through an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS); registry must be obtained within 12 months of hire
  • Non-U.S.-trained personnel must complete equivalency evaluation through ECE, NACES, or AICE within 30 days of hire
  • State licensure as required by Tennessee
  • Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of medical laboratory technologist or clinical laboratory scientist experience in an acute care facility
