Practice Highlights
- Full-time, night-shift position on a Medical-Surgical unit

- Oversees patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure smooth and efficient patient throughput
- Delegates assignments and supervises support staff in accordance with their training level and patient acuity
- Mentors and trains new staff; provides ongoing guidance and support to all unit personnel
- Liaises directly with physicians and administrators; communicates protocol changes to nursing staff
- Administers medications safely and on schedule per hospital policy; monitors and maintains accurate medical chart documentation
- Directs care in accordance with established standards for safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
- Fulfills Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
- Part of a five-hospital regional system that includes a dedicated children's hospital, serving El Paso since 1902
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Active Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, delegate, and mentor nursing staff in a fast-paced inpatient environment
