Practice Highlights
- Multi-site physician network delivering primary and specialty care across El Paso — occasional local travel to support other clinic locations is expected
- Direct patient care responsibilities: vital signs, medical history intake, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
- Medication administration including oral medications, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections
- Phlebotomy (venipuncture) and both CLIA-waived and non-CLIA-waived laboratory testing performed in-office
- Physician procedure support: room preparation, equipment setup, and hands-on assistance during exams and medical treatments
- Medical record documentation in accordance with practice charting policy; HIPAA compliance required throughout
- Coordination of specialist referrals, diagnostic testing orders, and insurance pre-certification for surgeries and tests
- Instrument cleaning, sterilization, and storage; exam room stocking and medical supply inventory management
- Front-desk support as needed: phone coverage, appointment scheduling, patient check-out, and referral processing
- Adherence to PPE protocols for exposure to blood, infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program required — OR — three (3) years of relevant healthcare work experience in lieu of a diploma or current MA certification
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program preferred; MA diploma plus one (1) year of relevant experience is the strongly preferred profile
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability and willingness to travel locally between clinic sites as needed
