<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Telemetry monitoring role with responsibility for arrhythmia identification, analysis, and interval measurements for each patient every shift and with any significant rhythm change</li> <li>Operates within a Central Surveillance computer system — maintains current monitored patient census, validates alarm parameters, and confers with nursing staff on count accuracy</li> <li>Selects, sets up, calibrates, and adjusts monitoring equipment per physician orders; troubleshoots equipment issues as they arise</li> <li>Collects, transmits, and documents pertinent patient data with correct rhythm interpretations to the Registered Nurse team</li> <li>Reports rhythm alarms and changes to RN staff; documents on logs and monitor strips per policy</li> <li>Transcribes physician orders and enters tests and treatment requests into the computer system</li> <li>Assembles and maintains patient medical records, including posting of results</li> <li>Monitors requisitions; tracks and reports supplies, equipment, maintenance, and repair services</li> <li>Participates in Performance Improvement activities and maintains a safe unit environment</li> <li>Part of a system that includes six full-service hospitals, a specialized children's hospital with dedicated pediatric ED, a comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, fitness and rehabilitation centers, and ambulatory services</li> </ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li> <li>Completion of an ECG/cardiac monitoring course preferred</li> <li>Previous monitor technician experience preferred</li> <li>Basic Dysrhythmia Competency required — must be completed within 30 days of hire</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of arrhythmia identification, analysis, and interval measurement</li> </ul>
